JAIRA BURNS RELEASES NEW SINGLE “LOW KEY IN LOVE”

Image
A clear shift from her angsty, heartbreak-inspired releases, “Low Key in Love” welcomes the softer side of Jaira Burns. Written by Jaira, Sasha Sloan, and Ryghteous Ryan, Jaira finds herself confessing her newfound feelings over a melodic pop/electro-house track, produced by Aalias (Eminem/Rihanna). The single is the third release from her upcoming EP Burn Slow (Upscale Music Group/Interscope Records). Check out her new single

Fresh off the Bonnaroo Music Festival stage, Jaira is looking to continue her exciting run. She recently released visuals for her singles “OKOKOK” and “Sugarcoat”; showcasing her unique style and raspy, soulful voice. Hailing from Pennsylvania, the pop singer first made headlines when Olivier Roustein selected her single "Ugly" for the 2017 Beats/Balmain ad campaign, featuring Kylie Jenner. She has since proved her staying power, captivating fans with ear-catching tunes and a voice to match. Don’t miss her performing at the Firefly Music Festival …

Chon at House of Blues - Houston, TX review and photos by Chris Brown

Image
Chon, hailing from Oceanside, California, performed to a sold-out crowd at House of Blues in Houston, TX. The second iteration of the "Super Chon Bros" tour included supporting acts from Polyphia (Dallas, TX), This Town Needs Guns (UK), and Tricot (Japan). It was a great night of progressive/math rock with talents from across the globe offering their unique sounds to the sets. Chon's impressive backdrop included a video game-like experience during their performance. They are definitely an act to keep up with, including everyone who supported the tour.

THE MANCHESTER ORCHESTRA SHOW REVIEW BY CHRISTOPHER T. LEE

Image
The Manchester Orchestra show at the Sherman Theater on June 5th, 2018 really blew me away. All of the artists had a unique sound and killed their performances.

The first band, Half Waif was astonishing. The set in its entirety was beautiful. The vocals and beats were amazing and it was a fantastic opening to the night.

Kevin Devine, the second artist of the night put on an amazing solo act. The set was amazing, it included some of his original songs, and covers including “All Apologies” by Nirvana. Kevin’s voice is like no other, the range of his vocal ability really had me in awe. One of Kevin’s songs “Cotton Crush” has a bit of lyrics sampled from The Front Bottoms song “The Beers”. It was really great to hear that song in his set, and to sing along with the lyrics. Kevin closed the set with his song called “Brother’s Blood”, this song is a roller coaster of emotion and passion, I was so happy to hear him play it.

When Manchester Orchestra took the stage, they opened with “The Maze”…

SERENA RYDER ANNOUNCES U.S. SUMMER TOUR

Image
Award-winning Atlantic recording artist Serena Ryder has announced a U.S. summer tour run, kicking off June 10th in Portland, ME. Ryder recently released her new single, “Famous (feat. Simon Ward of The Strumbellas),” produced by GRAMMY-winning producer Dave Cobb and complimented today by a newly released Lash Remix. The single impacted Triple A radio outlets this past week, while it’s video companion was praised by Refinery29 as “a genuine look at what fame means in the modern world and how social media has changed our approach to success.”
“Famous” follows last year’s EP, “ELECTRIC LOVE,” Ryder’s first new release since 2012’s fifth studio album, “HARMONY.” That collection earned the Toronto-based singer/songwriter her greatest popular and critical success to date, including platinum sales certification from Music Canada, the 2013 Juno Award for “Adult Alternative Album of the Year,” and an additional string of top Juno nods including “Album of the Year.” “HARMONY” was highlighted by…
