BREAKING BENJAMIN REVIEW AND GALLERY FROM THE FILLMORE IN CHARLOTTE, BY NICK BALL & COENTHEBUTCHER!
Breaking Benjamin brought 2017 in with a brilliant bang! The east coast was lucky enough to see a small winter tour from BB and they brought along Detroit based band Wilson to help bring the noise. This tour was the perfect fix to a case of the winter time blues.
Their appearance at The Fillmore in Charlotte, North Carolina was an absolute hit.
The show sold out weeks before January 21st arrived. As patrons arrived early the lines outside were long and it was cold but that stopped no one. Inside the venue, it was elbow to elbow but it did not matter. The pure excitement of seeing such an incredible band was enough to put up with anything. As it got closer to Breaking Benjamin hitting the stage people were still pouring in.
Opening with “So Cold” from their 2004 “We Are Not Alone” album was the perfect way to give the room an idea of how amazing the night would be. Every band member was having a blast and interacting with the crowd. Something that has become somewhat of a thing for the band is there small break down of covers during their set. Even going as far as entertaining some of their fellow “nerds” as Ben said by playing music from Star Wars. Ben also mentioned that the band had all been battling illness, but they did not let it hinder their energy or performance. Overall the show was a blast and left many wanting more. Let us all hope we see another tour from the band soon because their music is unique, timeless, and just flat out rocks.
