ATREYU AT THE DIRTY DOG - PHOTO GALLERY BY MICHAEL MULLENIX

So I was disappointed when I found out that Atreyu was not going to be on a Warped Tour stop anywhere near me.  However looking at their tour schedule, I was able to catch up with them at the Dirty Dog on 6th St.  Little did I realize that this leg of their 2016 tour was in service to the 10th year anniversary of A Death-Grip On Yesterday, and that they would be playing that album in its entirety.   The setlist was then bookended by fan-favorite hits like Right Side Of The Bed, Becoming The Bull, and ended on Lip Gloss And Black.

Being 10 years since I first started listening to or even saw Atreyu, especially touring this specific album, I thought this would be a time to recall a touching story about the 3rd photo gig I ever had. Ozzfest 2006.  I was able to secure a 2nd stage photo pass for the festival back in 2006, and Atreyu was returning as the direct support to Black Label Society on that stage.  After 3 songs, I was able to get onstage with band and watch part of the show from next to the drums.  Bassist Marc Mcknight came around his bass cabs to check something on his gear.  He then looks over and sees me, walks up and posts up for a High Five!  As minor as it was, that was one of the greatest moments of my young life!

I GIVE YOU ATREYU!
