Since their birth in Southern California in 2006, Spades and Blades has played shows, written music, screen printed their own merchandise, fabricated equipment, acted as promoter, manager, fundraiser and everything else in between. They are hard workers with an ethic that never sleeps.  “Our plan is to continue relentlessly,” says Spades and Blades front man Jason Todd.

And continue relentlessly is exactly what they have done.  As of 2014, following a couple of legitimate releases, “Blood Of  The Innocent” (2010), and “Proud To Be Loud” (2013), some member changes to solidify their line-up, and a respectable number of live shows; the LP “The End Is Near” was released. The quartet then signed with Sullen Clothing’s music division, Sullen Musik, subsequently contracted with M7 Booking Agency and immediately set of on a national tour in support of that release.

This year (2015) brought about a new management contract with We Are Music Management and booking  with Terminal 1 Booking Agency as well as a comprehensive U.S. tour with Richie Cavalera’s band, Incite.
Their musical presence is energetic, honest, and technically adept and has made it possible for them to not only share the stage with some serious notables, including:  Incite (as mentioned), Impeding Doom, Phinehas, Silent Planet, Speaking The Kings, and Dayseeker  but additionally to amass some pretty reputable endorsers: Bad Cat Amps, TRX Cymbals, Kickport, 1964 ears, and Coldcock Whiskey.

No strangers to hard work, the band continues to utilize the formula that has worked so well for them:  write, release, market, tour, repeat. As a result, they are gaining significant momentum within the metalcore genre.  As they are always ready and willing to play live their name is becoming synonymous with quality and quantity. They have never met a stage they didn’t like – or a stage that didn’t like them as is evidenced by their ever-increasing fan base.

Presently, they just completed a tour backing up their newest release “The End Is Near” as direct support for Straight Line Stitch. Future U.S. dates are currently in the works. Spades and Blades is not going away any time soon.
Relentless indeed.
