GARBAGE AT STUBBS BBQ SOLD OUT SHOW - PHOTO GALLERY BY MICHAEL MULLENIX

Garbage is the treasure of the 90's, a long-standing power-house that have shaped contemporary music and dug into the subconscious of every alternative-rock fan.  Shirley Manson is still considered a Post-Punk Goddess, Butch Vig is a drumming virtuoso and the architect of every great 90's band's sounds, and debates whether The Self-Titled Album or Version 2.0 was the best album are still waged.  Recently I was brought back to Stubb's BBQ to pay witness to Garbage on their Queer tour, a  tribute to the 20th anniversary of their first full-length (self-titled) album.

Starting off their set with a tour video recounting the band's adventures in 20 years making music together, the band immediately launched into Subhuman, an international B-side from the original album.  In the past when I've seen Garbage Shirley has looked incredibly regal and incredibly stylish, but I am happy to report this outing finds the Scottish frontwoman looking like the Punk Pixie who stole all our hearts years ago.  Garbage played the entirety of the Self-Titled, deep-cuts and all.  Whether it's the haunting melodies of Fix Me Now, or the biting sarcasm embedded in Queer, this album is still a tour de force in 2015, and should be listened to as of this reading.  For me personally I was absolutely electric when the band went into Stupid Girl and Only Happy When It Rains back to back.  It is my pleasure to bring to the publication, GARBAGE!
