Punk Band Dead Schembechlers Release 'Harbaugh to Hell'

The legendary DEAD SCHEMBECHLERS, who this year celebrate their 25th anniversary of skewering MICHIGAN WOLVERINE football in favor of their beloved OHIO STATE BUCKEYES, will release their latest opus, "HARBAUGH TO HELL" on Halloween 2015. The song will be available via iTUNES from the their own FLAMING WOLVERINE DEATH RECORDS. It tells the story of the group dragging current Michigan head coach JIM HARBAUGH thru a portal gate beneath Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, down to a fiery afterlife of pain. This particular Hell is a Hieronymus Bosch-ian landscape of demons roasting former Michigan head coaches on spits that go "round and round." An accompanying lyric video is now available below:

A portion of the proceeds from the song's iTunes sales will be donated to THE BO SCHEMBECHLER HEART OF A CHAMPION FUND. "We wanna help keep Wolverine fans alive long enough for them to die of embarrassment after we kick their asses across the field again this year," cho…

JILL JANUS- "Yes, I am still the singer for Huntress"

"Back to business! Yes, I am still the singer for Huntress. I've seen some heavy shit, but so often the things I say or do are misconstrued even by those closest to me. It is the end of an era for Huntress, we completed our trilogy, writing one album a year. I look forward to writing more Huntress records, and working on new musical projects I've been developing. The best is yet to come! JJx"

It looks like Huntress are no more.  Jill Janus took to social media earlier this morning (Oct. 28) to announce the end of the band, though she promised to continue making music on her own terms.

Since forming in 2009, Huntress have emerged as one of metal most exciting new bands. After releasing two EPs, Off with Her Head and Eight of Swords, Huntress gave us their first full-length album, Spell Eater, back in 2012. This was followed by Starbound Beast in 2013 and Static, which was released September of this year.

"The end. I told ya the Huntress Trilogy would fulfill my purpose. I'm packing it up. Maiden, Mother, Crone. I struggle through life with Bipolar, Schizophrenia & Dissociative identity disorders. I beat uterine cancer with a devastating hysterectomy. I will continue to create music. On my terms. Fuck the meaningless noise and trolls. My way, forever. Suck it. Done."

NSFW "Last Stand" video from the Shining!

Blackjazz trail-blazers SHINING have revealed a brand new concept-based video for "The Last Stand," a track from International Blackjazz Society, of which Pitchfork enthused,  "...even as the band relaxes into new atmospheres there's an extreme, ascetic discipline on display. The architecture of their music is modernist..." The video depicts a fight to the finish, giving us a rare glimpse into the mythology and values of the International Blackjazz Society.

In the video, directed by Mitch Massie, who created clips for The Dillinger Escape Plan and The Locust, we witness the ritualistic fight of a society member, attempting to advance to the highest rank within the organization. As symbols of their respective membership, levels are painted in blood on the backs of each contender. Our hero, belonging to the Level 5 "Cikada" part of the Middle Echelon, needs to defeat his opponent, who belongs to "1:4:9" Level 9 and is therefore part of the Upper Ec…

GWAR Returns To The A.V. Club "Undercover" Series

For the fourth year in a row (the most by any artist human, Scumdog or otherwise), your masters GWAR returned to The A.V. Club to take part in the A.V. Undercover Series. The A.V. Undercover Series features artists covering other artists' music. GWAR's first offering tackled the Kansas classic, "Carry On Wayward Son" - which was voted favorite performance of the year, This, of course, came as no surprise to GWAR who consider themselves the greatest rock performers on this or any other planet in history. After a year of celebrating the victory, the group returned to defend the crown with its unique spin on Billy Ocean's "Get Out of My Dreams, Get Into My Car."  What happened for their third appearance?  The band returned and went New Wave with their version of Pet Shop Boy's "West End Girls" which segued into a re-worked version of Jim Carol's "People Who Died", paying tribute to fallen GWAR members and friends of the band. An…
