WAYFARER HAS A 'SECRET'
WAYFARER to perform 'secret' concert atop Wyoming's Grand Teton Mountains.
The Colorado-based atmospheric black metal band WAYFARER is scheduled to perform on Aug. 1 at this year’s Fire on The Mountain, a "secret," exclusive event that will take place in an undisclosed location in the Grand Teton Mountains in Jackson Hole, Wyo. The event is being organized by a local Wyoming radio station, with the details of the performance only made available to those interested in attending. The show will begin at dusk with WAYFARER performing in front of a bonfire. Attendees are invited to camp overnight. The band will be capturing the event on video and will post footage in the coming weeks. Interested parties can e-mail heavymetalmassacre666@
After cutting their teeth in the burgeoning Denver underground, WAYFARER began work on their debut album, "Children of the Iron Age," a lengthy epic of blackened atmospherics interwoven with entrancing acoustic passages and driving, powerful post-metal soundscapes. The album was recorded in early 2014 at Flatline Audio in Westminster, Colo. with Shane Howard (Martriden) and mixed and mastered by Dave Otero (Cobalt, Primitive Man, Cattle Decapitation). The band is set to enter the studio in early 2016 to begin work on their sophomore album; stay tuned for details in the coming months.
