BAND SPOTLIGHT: OBLITERATE DEATHCORE HAILING FROM QUEBEC.

Image
Hailing from the depths of Québec comes a heavy dark new breed of Deathcore that is known as the 5 piece act, Obliterate. Formed in 2010. the band has played & toured with some of the heaviest national acts as well as made a huge mark for themselves in the Canadian music scene.

Their new self-titled EP, "Obliterate" is known as one of the most soul gripping hard hitting EP's of the year. Heavy drops, fast beats and pissed off riffs is a perfect description of what this band has to offer. Make sure to catch this heavy act on their upcoming tours! This is definitely one band you don't wanna sleep on.

GOD DETHRONED will reunite on board 70000TONS OF METAL!

Image
After their farewell performance on board 70000TONS OF METAL in January 2012 we are proud to announce the band’s return!
Exactly 3 years later, they are scheduled to return to the stage more aggressive then ever! It will all begin with 70000TONS OF METAL, The World's Biggest Heavy Metal Cruise, sailing to Jamaica in January 2015.
GOD DETHRONED front man, Henri Sattler, explains:
"In early 2011, I was facing two options: one was to announce a break, and the other option was to quit the band. I definitely needed time away from it all, and having a break wasn't reassuring enough to know if I would be able to recharge the batteries for another go."
"Oddly enough it was at the funeral of the man who discovered us in the first place that I came to realize the story wasn't finished yet. So here we go again. Don't think you will be able to see us playing every club for weekends on end. We will only play a small selection of shows and this won't happen before 201…

Image
Dutch necromantic death metal act, AntropomorphiA, are ready to unleash their new album 'Rites Of Perversion' upon mankind! 'Rites Ov Perversion' is set for release September, 12th on CD and LP in Europe, and on CD and digitally in North America on September 16th! Click HERE to check out the cover art and to stream the first single 'Nekrovaginal Secretions'!

Comments AntropomorphiA: "With 'Rites ov Perversion' we created a more organic layered and violent album, we explored within the realm of our musical origin and its atmospheric grimness, but at the same time not limiting ourselves to the sinister beauty of other dimensions. There are songs that have a bleak mid-paced drive and songs that just have primitive skull penetrating riffs…its the definition of this band, where we stand and what we are in this point of time…behold the sway of death!"

'Rites Of Perversion' is the successor to 'Evangelivm Nekromantia', an album that sti…

NACHTMYSTIUM premiere first song from final album!

Image
NACHTMYSTIUM are premiering the first song from their final today on Pitchfork.   THE WORLD WE LEFT BEHIND is the final chapter in a tumultuous, controversial and always provoking history. A black metal memorial, oozing of desperation, gloom and depravity. "Tear You Down" is now streaming at Pitchfork.com.  Here is a quote from singer/songwriter Blake Judd:
"Tear You Down" is, by far, the most vicious track both musically and lyrically on "The World We Left Behind".  Musically, its influences range from traditional eastern music (the primary opening riffs scale being derived from the more traditional "middle eastern" style of music, which I have always felt had a unique and creepy vibe to it.)  I can also sight Black Sabbath and more modern black metal bands such as Deathspell Omega and Funeral Mist as all being influential in the riffing throughout the track.  Lyrically it deals with the relationship between an all-controlling addiction and its…

Brimstone Coven: New Cosmic Hymn From Retro/Doom Metal Sorcerers Now Playing At Revolver.

Image
As retro doom metal sorcerers, Brimstone Coven, prepare for the official unveiling of their self-titled full-length and inaugural release for Metal Blade Records, today Revolver Magazine summons forth the cosmic echoes of "Children Of The Sun."

Spawned in Wheeling, West Virginia in 2011, Brimstone Coven manifest a captivating amalgam of dark, smoky cult rock that echoes the eerie reverberations of Black Sabbath and Pentagram, mixed with the classic rock expressions of Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, all the while preserving a vintage rock sound mixed with a style all their own. The outfit's Metal Blade debut boasts seventeen inebriating tracks of manic occult conjurings - a combo of their self-released full-length and EP — complete with new mastering and the vintage art renderings of Creighton Hill.

In an advance review of the offering, Metal Underground relays, "Brimstone Coven should appeal to most of the occult rock set for its vintage sound and supernatural atmospher…
