Showing posts from December, 2014

Season's Greetings, Happy Holidays!  Good will to our readers and loved ones, I bring you tidings of Kickass Rock N Roll and some very festive insanity!  Once again we are back at the Merry Meltdown, headlined this year by the Dirty Heads with Pennywise delivering some much needed Adrenaline and noise.  And after all, isn't that what the holidays are really about, getting together with the people you care about.... and then jumping around in a mosh pit with them?  Also on the bill was the acoustic rap stylings of Everlast, the Punk fueled mayhem of Authority Zero, and the seasonal sing alongs of Alien Ant Farm.  Ladies and Gentlemen, I present a sample of my gallery from the Meltdown:

COBURN PHARR to join ANNIHILATOR on board 70000TONS OF METAL 2015!

70000TONS OF METAL is proud to announce that ANNIHILATOR mastermind Jeff Waters has invited ex-vocalist COBURN PHARR to feature in their performances when The World's Biggest Heavy Metal Cruise sails to Jamaica in January 2015. Pharr was lead vocalist on ANNIHILATOR's critically acclaimed and best-selling 1990 release “Never, Neverland” which includes classics such as “Road To Ruin”, “I Am In Command”, “Reduced To Ash” and “Phantasmagoria”.

Waters comments: “Seeing as how it is the 25th Anniversary of my favorite ANNIHILATOR album, I thought it would be a lot of fun to invite Coburn with us to perform some of the songs he was a part of. I haven’t seen him since 1992 so I think the fans are going to spot us having lots of conversations about the old days (and my 80's hair style)! Current ANNIHILATOR vocalist Dave Padden is very much looking forward to this as he is a huge fan of that album and Coburn, but also because he won’t have to play and sing those songs hahaha...!”

The clip was directed by Adriana Lorente and Sara Cort, who already worked with ANGELUS APATRIDA on their preview clips for "You Are Next" and "Blast Off". The band comments:
"Behind the meaning of 'End Man' lies the desperation of someone who has reached the limit, on the verge of exploding. Going though certain tough situations in life creates inner demons that sometimes show when least expected. That feeling of stressing intensity is present during the whole song, only letting loose when choruses appear. Adriana and Sara have once aga…

I'm back everyone, thank you for your patience!  Good news, I brought Prog Metal to our site, how does Opeth at the Hollywood Palladium sound?  Sounds like an incredible evening, I agree.  Opeth is an experience to behold, rhythmic and melodic death metal, one of those few acts that can recreate the elegance of their studio albums in their live shows must maintain that brutality that comes with with on the spot appearance.  Please, check out the photos from the show:
