SHAI HULUD returns to the road in January with This or The Apocalypse!
Shai Hulud has announced that they will be on tour in early 2014, likely before many New Years Ever hangovers wear off! The band will embark on an extensive tour of the US that begins on January 3rd and doesn't wrap up until . This or the Apocalypse will headline with Sworn In and Shai Hulud providing support and Sirens & Sailors kicking things off each night. The confirmed dates are listed below, tickets are on sale now, and a tour trailer can be seen on youtube now HERE.
Shai Hulud's 2013 was one of the most active years in the band's history. Back in April, Hulud spent nearly two months in Europe with Propaghandi, Comeback Kid, and Departures. In North America, Hulud spent time on the road throughout June and July with Earth Crisis, Thy Will Be Done, The Overseer, Early Graves and more. Most recently, fans on the east coast caught Hulud on tour in October with Madball, Face All Fears, plus a special appearance with Unearth!
Reach Beyond the Sun, the fourth entry in Shai Hulud's storied catalog, will see was released in February of 2013. The album was produced by current New Found Glory guitarist, Chad Gilbert, and notably, vocalist on Hulud's debut LP Hearts Once Nourished With Hope And Compassion. In addition to producing, Gilbert also returned to sing on the album - his first offering of recorded vocals with the band in over a decade. Not unlike Shai Hulud's previous releases, Reach Beyond the Sun was born of several years of toiling before ever entering a studio. The band's previous effort, Misanthropy Pure, a polished, metallic and frenzied piece of work, is contrasted by the much more visceral, instinctively compositional songs found onReach Beyond the Sun, an embracement of the raw hardcore/punk elements that sit at the cornerstone of the band's influences.
