SPADES AND BLADES INTERVIEW WITH JASON TODD & PHOTO GALLERY FROM THEIR ROXY SHOW!!!

Thank you Jason for this interview!

B&H: Please introduce your band and what would you say your band gets its sound from?.
JT: I play guitar and bass guitar.
Justin plays guitar, bass guitar, and drums.
Josiah plays guitar, bass guitar, and drums.
Garrett plays guitar, bass guitar, and drums.
Tj plays guitar, bass guitar, and drums.
Everyone in the band comes from the punk scene and their first bands were all punk bands.
Spades And Blades started out as a rock band influenced by Motorhead, Guns N' Roses, Danzig, and Motley Crue.

B&H: Before Spades and Blades what was the name of your first band?
JT:  I met Justin and Josiah in the winter of 2001.
We formed our first band together immediately after meeting. A street punk band called The Havoc.
Justin's brother, Austin has been the band's roadie since they began.
The Havoc recorded and toured continually, until they decided to change their sound and their name in 2005.

B&H: How did Spades and Blades come about?
JT:  The Havoc used two logos during their career. A razor blade and a spade.
When thinking of new names for the band, a friend suggested "Spades And Blades" as a reference to their history as The Havoc.
Spades and Blades went through several lineup changes and recorded countless demos before completing their lineup with Garrett on Bass and TJ on Drums.
Spades and Blades released their first album "Blood of the Innocent" in the winter of 2010.
"Blood of the Innocent" has a more traditional metal / metalcore sound. The band was heavily influenced by Pantera and As I Lay Dying while working on the album.
Spades and Blades started pursuing a more metalcore / deathcore sound after promoting "Blood of the Innocent" during 2011.
Spades and Blades released their first single, "Isolation", off their upcoming album, "The End Is Near" in October 2012.
The music video for Isolation reached over 128,000 views on YouTube in only one month before it was pulled by YouTube.

B&H: Besides playing music what does the band do to pay the bills???
JT: I has a photo booth business called Insta Glam. (http://www.facebook.com/instaglamphotobooth)ve
Justin has a screen printing business called Dead And Buried, Inc. He prints all of the band's merchandise. (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Dead-and-Buried-Inc/126943554004487?fref=ts)
