Stream the new Matt Skiba And The Sekrets album, ‘Babylon’
ARTISTdirect.com doesn't want to keep a "Sekret." They actually want to share it.
That's why they partnered with Century Media/Superball Music and Matt Skiba & the Sekrets to stream the band's debut album Babylonin its entirety. Skiba, the frontman of Chicago punk rock icons Alkaline Trio, is releasing this project on May 8, so this is your chance to "try before you buy." Listen to each and every track, including standouts like "Voices" or "Angel of Deaf"—get the pun there?—and then nab a copy. It's so worth your time and while, if you like quality rock!
Teaming up with AFI's Hunter Burgan on bass and My Chemical Romance's Jarrod Alexander on drums for an all-star rhythm section, Babylon remains the creation of Skiba himself. "It's a band, but it's not a band," he said. "It was great to have Hunter and Jarrod come in and play. They are both great musicians and it was a thrill to play with them. Everyone involved in the album breathed life into the ideas, making them songs and giving those songs a foundation that couldn't be stronger or more inspired."
Skiba has long been regarded as a game changer in the pop punk and neo-punk scenes. He's not lost sight of his ability to do things his way with Babylon.
The band will embark on its first ever tour next month. It'll be a headline run, too.
