Mortad – “The Voice” Music Video

Female fronted UK thrash band Mortad has released a video for the song “The Voice” off their February 2012 debut album The Myth of Purity. The album was released with the February copy of Metal Hammer Magazine and will have a more official release date later on this year.
“The Voice” is dedicated Neda Agha Soltan who was killed in Iran during the protests of the 2009 Iranian Presidential Election outcome. The images and lyrics are pretty powerful and Mortad frontwoman Somi Arian had the following comments:
“Lyrically, ‘The Voice’ is the most important song in ‘The Myth Of Purity’ album, also the only song that contains some Persian lyrics. I felt that I had something to say, I want to be ‘the voice’ of the voiceless and to honour the memory of thousands of men and women who lost their lives in a battle to revive the basic human rights for others.”
