Closing out their string of Texas dates, August Burns Red brought their Constellations 10 year anniversary tour with them to the fans of Houston, Texas. The Pennsylvania metalcore outfit played their Constellations album, released in 2009, in its entirety. Supporting acts included upcoming metal group Silent Planet, as well as direct support by Canadas music veterans Silverstein.
The crowd gave Jake Lurhs no shortage of vocal support as the crowd yelled back lyrics at his request, electrifying the air in the House of Blues through every track. A hefty encore saw Bassist Dustin Davidson join Drummer Matt Greiner on percussion after Greiner nailed an impressive drum solo. The group closed out the night with hits from Messengers, Leveler, Found in Far Away Places and Phantom Anthem, leaving out any tracks from Rescue and Restore, leaving the crowd buzzing and looking forward to the next anniversary tour in 2021 of the Leveler album.

PARKWAY DRIVE AND KILLSWITCH ENGAGE AT THE SOUTH SIDE BALLROOM IN DALLAS - Photo Gallery By Michael Mullenix

Fellow Beasts!  A week ago Metalcore titans Parkway Drive and Killswitch Engage returned to Texas as part of their Collapse The World co-headlining tour.  Packing up the bags and heading to Dallas, we caught up with the bands at the South Side Ballroom for a night of high-octane, fist-pumping Metal! Having once seen Parkway Drive open a show for Killswitch Engage, it is inspiring to see that the release of their newest album, Reverence has put them on equal footing with their Massachusetts counterparts.  New anthems such as Shadow Boxing, The Void, and Absolute Power have taken Parkway Drive's live performance to a whole new level.  As for Killswitch Engage, mixing a sample of their classic hits such as My Last Seranade, My Curse, and even the rare throwback like Vide Infra, has everyone in the crowd singing along in pitch perfection.  It is my pleasure to welcome back to our magazine, PARKWAY DRIVE and KILLSWITCH ENGAGE!
